The Community Players strives to ensure that your theatre experience
with us is exceptional. To that end, we have compiled within this
section, answers to many of the questions you may have about your
theatre experience with us, and what you can expect. If
you can't find your question answered below, call the TCP INFOLINE
at
519.662.4532, or send us an email at onstage@thecommunityplayers.com and
we'll try to answer it.
There is no formal dress code enforced in our theatre. Most of the people you will see in the audience will probably be dressed in a "business casual" style. Sometimes the New Hamburg arena can be a bit cool, so you may want to bring a sweater along, just in case.
WE ASK THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM WEARING STRONG PERFUMES AND COLOGNES INSIDE THE THEATRE, as a courtesy to those around you, especially those that suffer from allergies.
We suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the show, which is when the house usually opens. This will allow you suitable time to park your car, arrive at the theatre, and comfortably find your seat.
Should you arrive after the show has begun, you will be asked to wait until a
suitable break in the performance before being seated.
Should you have to leave the theatre during the performance, YOU WILL be
asked
to
wait
until
a
suitable break in the performance before being reseated.
TCP's seating is in three levels: floor level at the front, raised midway back and raised further at the very back. Truth be told, there's not a bad seat in the house. Even if you find yourself near the back, you'll be less than 80 feet from the stage, so you'll be guaranteed a great view.
Different shows have different running times. Theatrical performances of this nature usually run around two and a half hours.
TCP shows are always billed and encouraged as family entertainment and we usually have children in the cast. This being said, live theatre, regardless of the show, may not be enjoyed by younger children. If you are in doubt about bringing a child to any particular production, please ask before buying tickets. Please be aware that if your child creates a disturbance during the performance, you may be asked to leave the auditorium. VERY YOUNG CHILDREN AS WELL AS BABIES ARE NOT PERMITTED INSIDE THE THEATRE.
Everyone in a live theatre audience, regardless of age, must have an assigned seat and a ticket. This is the case even if the child sits in your lap instead of in their assigned seat.

It is always a good idea to double check your tickets, both when you are ordering them, as well as when you receive them. This will ensure that no error was made at the time of ordering and that they are in fact the tickets for the correct date that you intended to see the performance. While sometimes errors do happen, we want to ensure that you have the best possible theatre experience. Always check your tickets
For each performance (excluding the student matinee) TCP reserves a limited
number of tickets as eyeGO tickets. The eyeGO program offers High School students
with a current and valid student I.D. the opportunity to purchase tickets to
our show for only $5.00. eyeGO tickets may be purchased through all channels,
however, the eyeGO ticket holder MUST show their valid student I.D. at the theatre
door. If no valid student I.d. is shown, then the regular ticket price will apply
or entry will be denied. Once
all
the
eyego
tickets
have
been
sold,
then
the
regular student rate applies.
YES. Be prepared to show your current and valid student I.D. when you are purchasing these tickets in person, picking up your tickets at the box office or before entering the theatre. (Please read above information for specific eyeGO ticket purchase procedures.)
A 10% discount is available for groups of 20 or more. Please note that to qualify,
20 or more tickets must be purchased at the same time, and for the same performance. For more information, please call our infoline at 519-662-4532.
No, sorry, we cannot do this. Tickets are not "reserved" until purchased.
There is no requirement that you purchase advance tickets. You can buy your tickets
at the box office as you enter the theatre, but you will be gambling that seats
will still be available. Many performances sell out well in advance, and you
may find your seating choices very limited, if any seats remain at all.
Sorry, but the answer is no. Reserved-seat ticket sales are final. There are
no refunds
or exchanges.
Tickets, once issued, cannot be reissued; they are like cash and cannot be reprinted.
Please keep your tickets in a safe place.
Before the show begins, as well as during intermission, TCP has a wide range
of refreshments available for purchase, ranging from bottled water, pop, salted
snacks, chocolate bars, candy and frozen Haagen Dazs® Novelty Bars. All refreshments
are very reasonably priced. PLEASE NOTE: Although refreshments are available
for sale in the theatre, with the exception of bottled water, ALL REFRESHMENTS
MUST BE CONSUMED BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE BEGINS.
No, outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the theatre. A full concession
area is available at the theatre including bottled water, pop, snacks and ice
cream treats. While certain snacks are available inside the theatre during intermission,
only bottled water is permitted inside the theatre during the performance.
No, strict copyright agreements forbid this! Cameras, video cameras and any other sound or image-recording devices are all forbidden in theatres. Bring one in and attempt to use it and you will be asked to leave the theatre immediately. Any photos taken will be confiscated and destroyed.
Yes, we can accommodate numerous wheelchairs. We do, however, need to know that the ticket you are purchasing is for a wheelchair. Specific areas throughout the theatre are designated for wheelchairs.
Unfortunately, our theatre does not offer enhanced equipment for the
hearing-impaired. If this is a concern, please let us know and we will seat you in the best possible hearing location.
